Logistics Manager – Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to lead and optimise our logistics operations at Glideline. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring efficient transportation and warehousing, and driving continuous process improvements. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven expertise in logistics and supply chain management, capable of delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Logistics Strategy – Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
* Category Management – Manage procurement and inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise waste.
* Transportation Management – Oversee transport planning and management systems to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and sites.
* Warehouse Operations – Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations, maximise space utilisation, and improve productivity.
* 3PL Coordination – Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring service level agreements are met for shipping and receiving activities.
* Compliance & Safety – Ensure all logistics and materials handling operations meet health, safety, and compliance requirements.
* Data & Forecasting – Conduct analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and enhance operational decision-making.
* Inventory Control – Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activity.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with production, sales, and finance teams to align logistics with overall business objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

* Proficiency in category management and process improvement methodologies.
* Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
* Working knowledge of ERP systems.
* Strong understanding of logistics principles, supply chain dynamics, and materials handling.
* Warehouse experience and familiarity with forklift operations (preferred).
* Advanced data analysis skills to support strategic decisions.
* Proven ability to manage shipping, receiving, and inventory functions effectively.
* Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
