Responsibilities
1. Undertake condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and building pathology assessments
2. Prepare specifications, scopes of work, and schedules for repairs and improvement schemes
3. Manage planned maintenance and cyclical works programmes
4. Act as Contract Administrator (JCT / NEC)
5. Oversee contractors, valuations, variations, and final accounts
6. Support procurement, tendering, and budget control
7. Ensure compliance with HHSRS, fire safety, asbestos, and other housing legislation
8. Maintain accurate asset and stock condition data
9. Liaise with residents, councillors, and stakeholders
10. Potential supervision of up to five surveyors
About You
11. HNC (or equivalent) in Building Surveying / Construction
12. Strong local authority or housing sector experience essential
13. Good knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and housing compliance (HHSRS)
14. Experience in surveys, specifications, and contractor management
15. Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
16. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
