Media preparation laboratory technician

Salary:£25,000-£27,000 per annum. About The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, sterilisation and quality control of microbiological culture media, reagents and laboratory consumables used within our UKAS-accredited laboratory. _________________________ Key Responsibilities include; Preparation, dispensing and sterilisation of microbiological media, agar and reagents. Operation and routine monitoring of autoclaves and laboratory equipment. Maintenance of media, reagent and equipment records in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements. Stock control and organisation of laboratory consumables. General laboratory housekeeping and cleaning duties. Assisting with environmental monitoring and other laboratory support activities as required. Supporting the wider laboratory team to ensure testing schedules are met. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and maintaining high laboratory standards. Required Criteria GCSEs in English Language, Science and Mathematics, at grade C or above, or an equivalent qualification.
