We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading engineering manufacturer, based in Ripley. Reporting directly to the Head of Machining, the role entails servicing a variety of machinery, spanning from manual equipment to advanced 5-axis machining centres, in addition to handling fabrication tools and general facility maintenance. Key Responsibilities: - Uphold strict safety standards, ensuring a hazard-free work environment. - Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in accordance with established protocols. - Adhere to all prescribed work procedures, including obtaining necessary permits. - Conduct installations of new equipment, adhering to specified standards and guidelines. - Identify and troubleshoot faults in plant machinery, devising appropriate rectification strategies. - Execute start up procedures post-repair to ensure optimal functioning of equipment. - Perform mechanical and electrical tasks within assigned competency levels. - Manage spare part procurement, liaising with suppliers and generating purchase orders as needed. - Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring proper supervision and adherence to induction protocols. Qualifications and Experience: - NVQ Level 3 certification or equivalent in a relevant discipline. - Proficiency in maintaining CNC Machine Tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical devices. - Competency in interpreting technical drawings and diagrams. - Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, meet tight deadlines, and work autonomously.
