Role Overview
The school is seeking to appoint an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and forward‑thinking team. Working under the direction of qualified teachers, you will help to raise standards of pupil achievement and contribute to pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development. This role is well suited to someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and considering a future career in education.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide general classroom support to the class teacher, including:
o Assisting in the planning and delivery of learning activities
o Supporting individual pupils or small groups, particularly those with additional needs
o Preparing resources, classroom displays, and teaching materials
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to work and play cooperatively
* Supervise pupils during break and lunchtimes as required
* Support pupils with reading, writing, numeracy, and other intervention activities
* Assist with routine administrative tasks (e.g., photocopying, filing, maintaining records)
* Help pupils develop social and behavioural skills, modelling positive attitudes and conduct
* Provide general pastoral care, wellbeing support, and first-aid assistance (training will be provided)

Person Specification
Essential
* A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent)
* A willingness to learn, take feedback on board, and undertake training
* Patience, empathy, and a positive, supportive attitude
Desirable
* Previous experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, such as in a nursery, holiday club, or youth setting
* An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
