The role would suit an empathetic, resilient and creative teacher who has strong experience supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD), ideally within a specialist school or hospital setting. The RoleAs an SEN English Teacher, you will provide tailored and engaging English education to pupils of varying ages and abilities who are unable to access mainstream education due to medical or complex needs.Teaching may take place: 1:1 at a pupil's bedside Within a specialist classroom environment Through highly personalised and adapted learning approachesYou will work closely with medical professionals and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of education and emotional support for vulnerable learners during challenging periods in their lives.
Responsibilities Include: Planning and delivering engaging, personalised English lessons Adapting existing teaching resources to meet individual needs Supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD and complex SEND requirements Creating a safe, nurturing and encouraging learning environment Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and families Maintaining high expectations whilst demonstrating patience and compassion Supporting pupils experiencing illness, trauma or difficult circumstances?
