Roles & Responsibilities
PURCHASING
* Assist the purchasing manager by:
* Liaising with and obtaining quotations from various supplier
* Placing purchase orders when required with various suppliers in the cladding & glazing sector
* Checking & amending order confirmations in line with original purchase orders and schedules
* Coordinate and plan site / factory orders and deliveries.
* Coordinate and manage project tasks to ensure delivery within allotted budget and timelines
* Maintain updated record of purchased products and delivery information.
* Working to deadlines on a weekly basis.
* Assist in sourcing new supplier's and clients.
* Assist in hitting monthly targets for valuation.
* Talking to supplier's and clients on a daily basis either over the phone or face to face.
* Coordinate with Factory Production in resolving production planning and delivery issues.
* Organising new supplier approval and vetting forms.
* Assist in weekly production meetings.
* Ensuring all work is at the highest standard for the end client.
* Demonstrable record in delivering savings against budget
* Track and raise purchase orders for new site mobilisations.
* 1st point of contact for site MR's. Identify, log and issue to purchasing for action.
Assist the site management teams by:
* Logging and managing hired in plant requirements for all sites
* Liaising with and assisting our site management teams with a variety of office-based tasks on a daily basis.
* Logging, tracking & expediting orders to site and advising site thereon.
* Advise on deliveries / logistics from various supplier to site.
* Arrange hire in plant and off hire as requested by the site teams.
* Ensure site paperwork is returned from site for checking and logging (i.e delivery notes).
* Arrange accommodation, train tickets, flights etc for site and office staff as required.
Assist the production manager / factory by:
* Placing purchase orders for clothing & other factory consumables when required
* Advising on factory bound deliveries from suppliers
* Booking training courses etc as required
Assist the accounts department by:
* Assisting with the correlation and checking of invoices.
* Answer incoming calls from clients & suppliers and re-direct their enquiries to the relevant member of staff in a pleasant, professional manner.
GENERAL
* Research and assist in implementation of various accreditations such as FIRAS etc. Arrange relevant meetings, take notes etc.
* Assist with booking and chasing of dates for testing rigs etc.
* Assist directors with day-to-day tasks as requested.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
* Good punctuality & timekeeping
* Be well presented
* Have a willingness to learn - to start with the tasks will be pretty menial but these will develop over time if the right attitude is shown.
* Good computer skills with proficiency in word, outlook, Excel & Sage accounting software.
* Experience within the construction, in particular the cladding & glazing sectors and advantage but not essential if from a general construction background.
* Have a good telephone manner
* Be able to multi task and work well under pressure.
* Minimum GCSE education. Maths & English (Grade C) essential
