Zachary Daniels is working with a leading multi-channel retailer based in the North West that is looking to expand their Merchandising department by adding an experienced Merchandiser. This is a key role in their clothing division, joining during a very exciting period in the company's history. Role Overview:
The Merchandiser will lead the team to deliver all channel sales, markdowns, stock, intake, and profit plans. They will drive business change to meet company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review previous season's performance with the Buyer and implement lessons learned.
* Create departmental strategy in collaboration with the Buyer.
* Approve proposed grading from the trading Merchandiser for assortment planning.
* Develop quarterly plans at the category/season level with the Buyer, ensuring the system reflects the optimal product mix to meet KPIs.
* Formulate range plans at the store level quarterly with the Buyer.
* Plan pre-scheduling to meet range plans in conjunction with Assistant Merchandisers.
* Review weekly trading performance and KPIs, identifying issues and actions for weekly meetings.
* Propose and agree on actions to recover risks and maximize opportunities with the Buyer at category and line levels.
* Capture all agreed actions in monthly forecast reviews.
* Gain approval for forecasts, including sales variance, creation of OTBs, and management of commitments such as on-time delivery, rebuys, and cancellations.
* Manage markdown proposals and reflect any changes in the season's range plan.
* Establish collaborative relationships across functions including Online, Marketing, Finance, DC, and Stores.
