Electro/Mechanical FitterLocation: Telford, ShropshireSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceHours: Full-timeOur client, a well-established manufacturer for the metal and plastics industries—servicing key sectors such as food and beverage — is looking to expand their assembly team with an experienced Electro/Mechanical Fitter.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled and dynamic engineering team that delivers cutting-edge dimensional, visual, and destructive testing solutions. You’ll be involved in the full assembly process of complex machinery, working from the component level to finished product.Key Responsibilities:
* Mechanical and electrical assembly of precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fitters, and wiremen
* Ensure components are assembled to high standards of quality and precision
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proficient in bench fitting
* Ability to perform mechanical adjustments using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders
* Skilled in checking assembled components against geometric tolerances using DTI’s and gauge blocks
* Confident in pneumatic systems assembly and interpreting pneumatic schematics
* Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience
* Strong ability to read and work from technical and assembly engineering drawings
* Competent in electrical panel wiring
* Experience reading electrical/electronic drawings
* Working knowledge of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems is advantageous
* Fault-finding capabilities on DC control systems
Qualifications:
* Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent time-served experience
* HNC in Engineering is desirable
