We are currently seeking a Fleet Compliance and Engineering Manager, to join our Currys team at Newark. This isn't just about keeping wheels turning - it's about ensuring every vehicle meets the highest legal, safety, and operational standards while leading a team that keeps us moving.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained to legal and operational standards
* Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
* Oversee defect reporting, rectification, and follow‑up processes
* Liaise with internal workshops and external maintenance providers
* Conduct technical assessments and inspections of fleet vehicles
* Support procurement and specification of new vehicles and equipment
Qualifications
* Proven experience in fleet engineering or vehicle compliance management
* Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles (HGVs, LGVs)
* Relevant engineering or transport qualifications (e.g., IRTEC, CPC, Transport Manager CPC)
* Familiarity with compliance systems and matrix management tools (e.g., Tachograph analysis, driver CPC tracking, vehicle defect reporting)
* Excellent understanding of UK transport legislation and vehicle safety standards
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
