Shift Engineer - Data Centre Operations

£58,000 - £62,500 + 10% Bonus + Training & Progression
We're recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join a live mission-critical data centre environment in Redhill, supporting 24/7 operations across critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer looking to develop within the data centre sector, with a structured progression pathway from Engineer → LVAP → HVAP fully supported by the business.
The role operates on a continental shift pattern within a highly technical facility focused on uptime, resilience, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring critical plant via BMS
* Responding to alarms, faults, and incidents
* Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
* Working on UPS systems, generators, LV switchgear, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, and fire systems
* Supporting permit to work and LOTO procedures
* Contractor supervision and site safety compliance
* Maintaining accurate shift logs and incident reports
* Supporting maintenance shutdowns and critical operations procedures
Requirements:
* Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
* Experience within a critical environment such as:
* Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, and BMS platforms
* Experience working within permit-to-work environments
* Comfortable working continental shifts
Package:
* £58,000 starting salary
* £60,000 once LV authorised
* £62,500 once LV & HV authorised
* 10% company bonus
