Job Description – Analyst and Consultant
The Oliver Wyman Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice is seeking top talent for our Hong Kong office.
The new Manager candidate will help grow the Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice from the ground up and will report to the team leader in Hong Kong. The Manager will contribute to a broad range of projects and play a key role in sourcing and delivering projects for clients, including top-tier insurance companies, reinsurance companies, investment banks, and private equity firms.
Potential projects and responsibilities may include:
* Thought leadership, including oversight and creation of intellectual capital
* Creation and analysis of financial projections
* Insurance mergers & acquisitions
* Capital markets transactions support
* Life and annuity product development and financial reporting
* Client and industry presentations, surveys, case studies
* Collaborating with management consulting and strategy practices
* Managing client portfolios with high responsibility and accountability
* Reviewing pricing assumptions and model methodologies, benchmarking industry and peer experience
* Developing and maintaining intellectual capital
* Participating in client sales meetings
Skills and Attributes
* ASA / AIA or equivalent actuarial credentials with 3+ years of professional experience. Less experienced candidates may be considered for the Analyst role.
* Knowledge of Hong Kong market regulations, such as Hong Kong RBC, Insurance Ordinance, IFRS-17, etc.
* Experience with financial modeling systems (Prophet or Moody’s Analytics AXIS™) is preferred.
* Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
* Highly motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
