Were looking for a dedicatedStudent Mentorto join ourspecialist provisionat The Sheffield College. This is a rewarding and varied role where youll work closely with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities to help remove barriers to learning, develop their independence, and reach their full potential.

About The Role

As a Student Mentor, youll play a key role in ensuring students with SEND have a positive, personalised and consistent experience at college. Youll work closely with Personal Tutors, the EHCP team and curriculum staff to providewraparound pastoral, behavioural, and wellbeing support, particularly for learners identified as high or medium risk. You will help deliver targeted interventions, improve engagement and attendance, and develop strong relationships with parents and carers.

Youll also lead on positive behaviour support, using de-escalation strategies, restorative approaches and person-centred planning to help learners succeed in their college journey.

Were Looking For Someone Who

* Hasexperience supporting learners with SEND, ideally within a school, college, or alternative education setting
* Understands theEHCP processand the importance of tracking progress towards outcomes
* Uses apositive and proactive approach to behaviour managementand is confident working with learners with a range of needs
* Is passionate about inclusion and promoting student voice
* Can build trusted relationships with students, families and external professionals
* Is confident delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to support attendance, wellbeing, and personal development
* Has excellent communication and record-keeping skills

In This Role, Youll Be Responsible For

* Supporting learners transition into college, including enrolment and induction
* Providing targeted mentoring around behaviour, attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing
* Responding to learners needs as they arise
* Contributing to and leading onPositive Engagement Plansand behaviour support strategies
* Responding to safeguarding, mental health and crisis situations appropriately
* Acting as an advocate for students in behaviour and disciplinary meetings
* Leading onrestorative conversationsand reintegration planning
* Supporting high-qualityparent/carer communicationand engagement
* Helping embed SHAPE values (Staying Safe, Health & Well-being, Active Citizenship, Progression & Careers, and Equality Matters) into the learner experience

What We Can Offer You

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £32,523 - £36,566per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
