The Housing Department is expanding, and the firm is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Housing Solicitor to join their team. Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload with a focus on housing law matters. This includes advising and representing clients in landlord-tenant disputes, disrepair claims, housing possession proceedings, and homelessness cases. The Housing Solicitor will join a well-established and supportive team, with ample opportunities to build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the department. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert legal advice to clients on a wide range of housing law matters, including tenancy agreements, housing disrepair, eviction proceedings, and homelessness. Manage a varied caseload, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently and that clients receive practical and timely advice. Represent clients in court hearings, tribunals, and mediations, advocating for favorable outcomes. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate and detailed records for all client matters. Collaborate closely with colleagues to develop new business opportunities and contribute to the firm’s ongoing growth. Keep clients updated on the progress of their cases, managing client expectations effectively. Stay up to date with the latest developments in housing law to ensure that advice remains current and relevant. Key Requirements: Qualified Solicitor with experience in housing law (3 years PQE). Strong knowledge of housing legislation, case law, and experience managing housing-related cases, including court representation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage a caseload independently. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. A proactive approach to business development and a willingness to contribute to the department’s expansion.
