What you'll be doing
As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading M&E work packages up to GBP10m or contributing to larger, more complex packages.
2. Managing M&E subcontractors, ensuring installation quality, safety, and compliance.
3. Overseeing project planning, logistics, and sequencing to optimize efficiency.
4. Driving health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting a culture of site safety.
5. Ensuring technical compliance, quality assurance, and alignment with the Building Safety Act.
6. Collaborating with key stakeholders including design teams, site managers, and external partners.
7. Monitoring project progress, ensuring targets are met within budget and timeframe.
8. Supporting commercial teams with accurate site records and procurement forecasting.
9. Championing continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable construction practices.
Who we're looking for
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Proven experience in Mechanical Project Engineering within the construction sector.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
* Excellent understanding of M&E construction techniques, British Standards, and regulations.
* Experience in planning, logistics, and coordination of large-scale projects.
* A commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality in construction.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
* Proficiency in BIM and construction management software.
* A relevant engineering qualification (Chartered status is desirable but not essential).
