Head Chef – Tabacs
Tabacs is a busy, independent neighbourhood bar & restaurant known for atmosphere, great wine, and bold food. We specialise in Spanish-inspired small plates designed for sharing – vibrant, seasonal, and packed with flavour.
We're looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen and take ownership of our food offering as we continue to grow.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll be responsible for:
* Leading and developing the kitchen team
* Designing and evolving a Spanish-inspired small plates menu
* Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
* Managing GP, stock control and ordering
* Driving consistency during high-volume service
* Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Working closely with senior management on seasonal changes and events
We want someone creative but commercially aware – who understands that flavour, speed, margin and team culture all matter.
About You
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous ready to step up
* Passion for Spanish cuisine, tapas, and modern small-plate dining
* Confident managing kitchen costs and delivering strong GP
* Calm under pressure in a fast-paced service
* Strong leadership and team-building skills
* Organised, proactive and solution-focused
Experience with fresh seafood, chargrill, and high-volume small plate service would be a big advantage.
