Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Projects Lawyer to join a leading client in the Middle East for an initial 3-month assignment. This role can be done from anywhere, but with middle east time zones and involves close collaboration with project development, finance, and legal teams. You will be responsible for advising on large-scale infrastructure and development projects, from inception through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on Project Agreements, EPC & O&M term sheets, Joint Development Agreements, and Shareholders Agreements.
* Deliver expert guidance on PPP/PFI transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and project documentation to support project delivery.
* Advise on legal risks, project financing, procurement processes, and regulatory frameworks.
* Manage disputes and escalate when necessary to protect client interests.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including finance, technical, and government stakeholders.
* Support the development and implementation of legal strategies to ensure project success.
Qualifications & Experience
* 8+ PQE lawyer admitted in a major international jurisdiction.
* Significant experience advising on PPP/PFI projects with proven expertise in Project Agreements, EPC & O&M contracts, Joint Development Agreements, and Shareholders Agreements.
* Background working with a top-tier international law firm and/or in-house legal teams on infrastructure, energy, or real estate projects.
* Strong project finance knowledge and experience with construction contracts and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent analytical, drafting, organisational, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage complex transactions and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Arabic language skills and regional Middle East experience preferred but not essential
