We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Twickenham, starting as soon as possible. As the Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum while supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. You will play an important role in preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments in a positive and encouraging way, ensuring they feel confident and well-supported.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
* Support pupils in preparation for KS1 assessments in a calm and structured manner
* Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
* Use assessment data to monitor progress and plan targeted support
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and a love of learning
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
* Be nurturing, organised, and enthusiastic
* Have strong classroom management and communication skills
* Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
