Specialist Children's Physiotherapist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the South East Kent locality team, based at the Beacon in Folkestone. As a Kent-wide children's therapy service, you will work across the locality responding to service need and demand. The children's therapies team in South East Kent uses a patient‑reported outcome tool with children, young people and their families to understand what is important to them and what support they might need to achieve these outcomes.
You will be part of a dynamic and innovative team committed to integrated working, continuing professional development and a robust model for professional supervision. You will have the knowledge and skills to manage a varied caseload of children and young people aged 0‑19 and provide specialist assessment, advice, intervention and support for these children and their carers.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver physiotherapy to a complex and varied caseload of children and young people with physical needs and disabilities.
* Use specialist knowledge and skills for physiotherapy assessment and intervention to deliver a safe and effective service that makes a difference to the lives of children and young people.
* Support specialist clinical pathways and clinics delivered by the physiotherapy service, e.g. CPIPS, JAM, orthotics and specialist equipment.
* Supervise, mentor, and support the team of physiotherapists and therapy assistants, living the Trust values.
* Support children and young people in a place‑based model, including clinics, at home in nursery or school; timely travel is essential, so a valid driver’s licence is required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registered
* Evidence of specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice, e.g. physiotherapy.
* Post‑graduate qualifications in a related area.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in area of practice.
* Practical experience managing health‑related projects or complex caseloads.
* Experience of leading and managing teams.
Knowledge
* Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance relevant to the care setting and its application across healthcare services.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Application of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 – a Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
£39,959 to £48,117 per annum pro rata
