A leading company in the
engineering and power generation industry
is seeking a motivated
Sourcing Specialist
to join their procurement team on a temporary basis. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to global procurement processes while supporting the team through a transitional period.
You will be responsible for purchase order (PO) management, supplier coordination, and system updates to ensure seamless procurement operations. Full system training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Place and follow up on purchase orders (POs) for assigned commodities.
* Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely execution of POs.
* Resolve problems and manage schedule changes to support business continuity.
* Update ERP systems to maintain accurate planning and reporting.
* Identify and signal process flaws or inefficiencies, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to support data gathering and analysis.
* Close down completed system orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
Requirements
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of sourcing/procurement experience).
* Strong computer literacy, including MS Office.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Detail-oriented and comfortable with routine processes.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain roles.
* Exposure to ERP systems (training will be provided if not).
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
* Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or energy-related industries.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across geographies.
