Role and Experience Level

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE to join the firm’s Real Estate team in a role focused primarily on leasehold enfranchisement. Based in Canterbury, with hybrid working offered post-settlement, this role would suit a technically capable lawyer with specific expertise in long leasehold work and a wider commercial property background.

Team and Culture

The Real Estate team is Partner-led, collaborative, and known for its close mentoring culture. Fee earners benefit from clear progression pathways and opportunities to build niche specialisms, supported by a culture that encourages autonomy while ensuring strong team support. This is a genuinely warm, collegiate environment where people stay and grow.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll work across a varied caseload of commercial and residential property matters, with particular focus on:

* Leasehold enfranchisement
* Lease extensions
* Freehold acquisitions and disposals
* Service and maintenance charge disputes
* General commercial property transactions

You’ll also work closely with senior practitioners in the enfranchisement space, with the role designed to evolve into a specialist position within the firm for the right candidate.

Required Skills & Experience

* 3+ years’ PQE (guideline)
* Strong technical knowledge of long leasehold matters, including experience with County Court and Property Tribunal processes
* Sound commercial property knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
* A collaborative approach and eagerness to specialise further

Impact of the Role

This is a key strategic hire. The incoming solicitor will play a pivotal role in strengthening the firm’s already reputable enfranchisement practice, while shaping the future direction of this niche specialism within the team.

Working Options

* Hybrid working policy (2 days WFH, post-settling in)
* Supportive tech infrastructure enabling agile working

Location

The role is based at the firm’s modern and centrally located Canterbury office, a short walk from local transport and amenities.

Salary & Benefits

* Competitive salary package, dependent on experience
* Excellent benefits including pension, generous holiday allowance, and enhanced flexibility
* Strong work-life balance ethos
* Career progression pathways and mentorship
* Accredited “Investors in People” employer with structured training programmes
