A diverse and growing business group, with trading entities across a range of sectors, is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join their leadership team on a 4-month contract. This is a key role providing full responsibility for financial reporting, audit, cashflow management, and driving efficiencies across the group.
The successful candidate will oversee a small finance team and work closely with the Group Managing Director and senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and ensure the financial health of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead preparation of year-end accounts and manage the audit process across multiple entities.
* Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory obligations.
* Review and distribute monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
* Oversee quarterly VAT returns and ensure accurate, timely submission.
* Manage and support a small finance team, fostering collaboration and development.
* Maintain and update cashflow forecasts, identifying cost-saving initiatives.
* Enhance financial processes, reporting efficiency, and systems usage (Xero and ERP platforms).
* Act as a key point of contact for auditors, tax consultants, and banking partners.
