SEND Learning Support Teacher – South Tyneside

Where you’ll make a difference
You’ll support pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them access learning, build routines and develop independence. Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff, you’ll play a key role in creating a classroom environment where pupils feel understood and able to succeed.
Your days will be varied, meaningful and filled with small wins that make a big difference.
Your key responsibilities
* Delivering tailored support to pupils with varying additional needs
* Working one-to-one and in small groups to build confidence and engagement
* Helping create structured routines that make school feel predictable and safe
* Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
* Using a positive, consistent approach to behaviour and communication
What you’ll bring to the team
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND
* A patient, reassuring manner
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Confidence supporting personal care or sensory needs where required
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
