Quantity Surveyor – Decommissioning Projects
Abingdon / Culham Site (Hybrid – 3 Days On Site)
£50-56/hour Inside IR35
12‑Month Contract
We're supporting a major UK nuclear and fusion programme and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a high‑profile decommissioning portfolio delivering technically complex construction and infrastructure projects.
This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the UK's clean energy and scientific innovation sector, supporting large‑scale decommissioning and construction activities within a highly regulated environment.
You’ll play a key role in commercial delivery, cost control, procurement strategy, NEC4 contract administration, and risk management across projects valued in excess of £20m.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Leading QS activities across complex construction and decommissioning projects
* Preparing cost estimates, benchmarking exercises, and feasibility studies
* Supporting procurement strategy, tender preparation, and contract negotiations
* Managing NEC4 contracts including compensation events and early warnings
* Conducting payment assessments and agreeing final accounts
* Providing strategic commercial advice to minimise risk and maximise value
* Supporting risk management, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
* RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
* Strong NEC4 contract management experience
* Background in construction, infrastructure, nuclear, or decommissioning projects
* Experience working on projects exceeding £20m in value
* Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent communication and technical reporting capability
Contract Details:
* Hybrid Working – 3 Days Per Week On Site in Abingdon/Culham
* 12‑Month Initial Contract
* £50‑56/hour Inside IR35
* Start ASAP / Late June 2026
