About the Senior Financial Accountant opportunity:
Sellick Partnership is pleased to be working in partnership with a well-respected and long-standing Local Authority client in the West Midlands.
Purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant opportunity:
* To lead a professionally focused corporate finance team.
* Provide financial and commercial advice and support across a range of directorates.
* To ensure the council produces the necessary information and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant will include:
* To assist and support the Head of Financial Accounts in providing strategic financial direction.
* Lead on the delivery of high-quality, efficient financial services and regulations to support the delivery of corporate aims and objectives.
* To support and represent the city council strategic objectives.
* Ensure statutory accounts are prepared accurately and on time in line with regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to the development and oversee the treasury management activities.
Required experience of the Senior Financial Accountant:
* A fully qualified finance professional (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
* Experience in statutory reporting and treasury management.
* Strong knowledge of corporate financial policies and strategies.
* Experience of implementing financial strategies.
* Strong hands-on technical experience in financial accounting.
