This role is onsite, requiring reporting to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
Seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Responsibilities include developing mechatronics systems to improve aerodynamics testing for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and optimize technical solutions, contributing significantly to our competitiveness and innovation, and linking racing lessons to production vehicles.
What You’ll Do
1. Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
2. Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
3. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
4. Coordinate with external suppliers for component selection.
5. Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure performance and reliability.
6. Manage prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
7. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering.
* Strong understanding of multidisciplinary system design.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
* Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming (C, C++, Python).
* Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
Preferred:
* Master’s degree in relevant fields.
* Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
* Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, advanced CAD skills, and control system knowledge.
