Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Metering team, where we are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to ensure correct billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

What will you be doing?
As an engineer, you'll be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and removal of smart meters. You enjoy working independently, engaging with customers, and meeting new people?
Customer service is our top priority. You will ensure all jobs are completed on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of smart meters to customers. Do you like helping people and making a difference?
You will complete around 5 smart meter installations/removals (SMETS2) daily in customers' homes, with an uncapped bonus for extra jobs. You’ll use your tablet to see your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance.
Continuous training will be provided to develop your skills. Notably, 83% of our field management team have been promoted from technician roles. We offer career longevity and growth opportunities.
Health and safety are central to our operations. You will receive onboarding and ongoing training to ensure safety standards are met. Weekly meetings and support from field managers are available to prevent loneliness and promote team cohesion.
What You’ll Bring
* A valid UK driving license held for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points.
* Qualifications such as CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
* Experience installing gas and electric smart meters.
* Previous MOCOPA experience at a multi-rate level.
If you have additional qualifications like REGT1, 3-phase, or are registered on the EUSR portal, that’s a plus but not required.
