Overview
The post will be based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. There will be an average of 3.5 PAs (Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care), with the remainder allocated for Supporting Professional Activities. You will work as a senior employee of the Trust, collaborating with clinical, medical, and managerial colleagues to provide high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide a first-class clinical service.
* Provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty.
* Undertake all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies.
* Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and the Trust’s service plans.
* Maintain the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Division or the Trust.
* Work within the multi–disciplinary team to provide and develop care for orthopaedic foot and ankle problems, with a focus on surgical input when necessary as part of an MDT process for patients with diabetic foot problems.
* Deliver care aimed at improving patient mobility and reducing long-term disability by performing elective foot and ankle surgeries.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including diabetic services, vascular and physiotherapy.
Remit and Teaming
Work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for orthopaedic foot and ankle problems in collaboration with another Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with a sub-specialist interest in Foot and Ankle surgery.
