Role

SLR is currently recruiting a Project Manager for multi‑disciplinary projects across a wide range of construction and development sectors throughout the UK. The role is based primarily in our Greater Manchester office and supports our lead Project Managers with commercial and project management duties. A proactive, leadership‑oriented candidate is expected to deliver efficient commercial and contractual management services to company projects.


Responsibilities

* Producing project programmes and disseminating information.
* Dealing with day‑to‑day queries from site and technical teams and ensuring they are adhering to the scope and specifications of the project.
* Reporting to project teams on progress against programme and budget.
* Undertaking the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence.
* Ensuring contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Contract Leader at pricing stage.
* Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates.
* Maintaining registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims.
* Assist in change management and cost control.
* Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed.
* Assist in the production of monthly cost reports and forecasts.
* Produce pre‑contract tender reports.
* Review value management and advise on risk management.
* Understanding the implications of health, safety and environmental regulations.
* Ensure all health, safety and environmental risk situations are brought to the attention of the senior project manager.
* Carrying out regular site visits to inspect quality of work and compliance with the plan, where required.
* Contribute to securing opportunities and repeat clients due to the exceptional service delivered.

About You

* Highly conscientious and proud of quality and attention to detail.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project would be highly beneficial.
* Builds respectful, trusting and productive relationships with internal, external customers and other stakeholders.
* React promptly to meet and exceed client requests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
* Leads and encourages an environment of confidence and respect.
* A full driving licence.

Experience of understanding and/or administering common forms of construction contract conditions (particularly NEC) is highly beneficial, as is sound knowledge of health and safety considerations and legislation. Holding or working toward a relevant qualification such as APM, CEng, NECReg or similar would be great, but if not there can be an opportunity to do so.
