Driver Essential
We are currently recruiting for an experienced personal assistant for a loving, sassy, young (7 year old) girl with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD. Due to the complex needs of the child, they always require full supervision.
Our client currently resides with mum and their family pet so being a dog lover is essential. SEND experience is essential for this role and you must be able to demonstrate strategies for deescalating meltdowns and challenging behaviours.
Our client enjoys a variety of sensory stimulating activities including trampolining, Air Box Bounce, swimming and trips to the local parks/beaches. They would like to visit and explore new venues to widen their experiences within the community. Routine is very important to them as they can dysregulate if sudden changes occur.
Our client is a very chatty, inquisitive little girl and loves a cup of tea and a natter. She enjoys reading stories, music and dance, so a good level of fitness is required. She enjoys practising gymnastics, and yoga and enjoys outdoor activities. She loves being at the beach or local skate park with her bike or roller boots.
The main tasks within this role will include supporting our client to access the local community, accompanying and supporting them to engage in their chosen activities. Our client is independent in toileting and eating but may need prompting to drink when they are engaging in physical activities. You will be required to support our client with dressing appropriately for the weather and may need to prompt and support them in their choice of clothing due to extreme sensory needs.
We are looking for a car driver with a full clean UK Driving Licence for this role, and you must be able to navigate public transport systems should the child want to venture on a train or bus journey somewhere rather than a car journey.
