Team Leader - Drainage
Rochford, Essex (on site with travel)
Permanent, Full time (47.5 hours)

We are seeking a Drainage Team Leader to lead a front-line drainage team responsible for responding to and resolving drainage blockages and related issues on site. This is a physically active role involving hands on clearance of blockages, use of specialist equipment, and ensuring safe and efficient operations in line with company standards.
The role will report into the CCTV & Jetting Manager
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead and coordinate a small team attending drainage blockage call outs across residential, commercial, or public sites.
Carry out physical clearance of blockages using high pressure water jetting, mechanical tools, and CCTV inspection equipment.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
Accurately record job details, findings, and actions taken using handheld devices or paperwork.
Liaise with customers, site contacts, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve issues professionally.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure all team members follow safe working practices.
Maintain equipment and vehicles to a high standard, reporting faults or issues promptly.
Support training and development of team members, promoting a positive and proactive working environment.
Work alongside clients to ensure that programmes are met such as the mis use programme via Anglian Water.
Act as the main point of contact for operational queries from and during works on the front line.
Implement and enforce health and safety procedures within the team.
To maintain the equipment in a serviceable condition at all times
To represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
To attend training and update courses as required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Proven experience in drainage operations or a similar field-based role.
Competent in using jetting equipment, CCTV survey tools, and other drainage clearance equipment.
High Pressure Water Jetting qualification.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
Good communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
Desirable:
Experience in reactive maintenance or emergency response work.
Knowledge of health & safety regulations relating to drainage and construction environments.
Basic IT skills for job reporting and communication.
