Job Introduction
We are recruiting for an experienced paralegal to join the BBC Legal team, providing legal, document management, and administrative support across the legal function.
This is a permanent role, starting from August 2025, based in London. The BBC Legal Division offers legal advice and develops legal strategies for the BBC, supporting diverse legal matters across various departments. The role supports the Litigation, FOI, and Employment teams, with opportunities to work with other legal areas.
The role provides practical experience and training, including potential Qualifying Work Experience for legal qualification pathways, though it does not include funding for formal solicitor qualification.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality legal and administrative support, focusing on Litigation, FOI, and Employment.
* Conduct legal research, organize information, draft documents, assist with litigation processes, and review legal documents.
* Handle large data sets, prepare FOI responses, and manage requests for BBC information, applying appropriate legal redactions.
* Support administrative functions within the Legal Department, maintaining records, arranging meetings, and managing diaries.
* This role is suitable for an experienced paralegal working towards legal qualification (e.g., GDL).
Are you the right candidate?
* Experience as a paralegal in a professional legal environment, with exposure to litigation and dispute resolution processes.
* Law degree or non-law degree with a Graduate Diploma in Law.
* Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, and experience in document management.
* Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and solve problems under pressure.
* Understanding of media industry issues and client needs within the BBC.
* Highly computer literate and quick to learn new systems.
