Assistant commercial analyst

Head4Talent are working exclusively with a leading manufacturing/distribution business on the outskirts of Bristol that are seeking to hire an Assistant Commercial Analyst to join its growing team.

This fast paced role and will have responsibility for the procurement analytics of the major raw materials and the finished goods purchased by the business to ensure market intelligence drives supplier negotiations and profit maximisation. The role will have significant interaction with stakeholders in the group such as procurement, supply chain and new product development.

Duties

* Support the Group Commercial Analyst with significant input to the procurement strategy using data on current sales trends
* Supplier optimisation and purchase cost reviews for existing supplier base
* Support on profit maximisation with key input on major material cost indexes
* Collect and analyse large volumes of data to support decision making processes
* Compare current purchase cost vs trends in commodity material cost matrixes to alert procurement to negotiate pricing reviews with external suppliers
* Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis
* Review product strategies considering new environmental policies and associated taxes
