Science Teacher - SEN/SEMH Specialist School, EdEx – Education Recruitment
Are you a qualified teacher, or do you have experience teaching/supporting young people with SEN/SEMH? An Outstanding specialist school for pupils with SEN & SEMH needs is searching for a Science Teacher to join them ASAP, or in January at the latest.
Responsibilities
* Teach GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent to pupils in KS3 & KS4 with small class sizes of up to 6.
* Create a quiet, calm and purposeful learning environment.
* Deliver tailored, short, low-pressure lessons that pupils can enjoy.
* Contribute to the therapeutic aspect, with weekly training for staff.
Job details
* Full Time, Permanent Contract
* Salary: £28,000 - £55,277 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
* Start ASAP, or in January 2026 at the latest
* Location: Tonbridge – on site parking or a 10 minute walk from a station on the South Eastern line
* Ages 6-16, capacity for 75 pupils with plans to extend to KS5
Candidate requirements
* Qualified Teacher with QTS/QTLS or unqualified candidates with relevant experience
* Genuinely passionate about SEN, SEMH and Inclusion
* Confident behaviour management skills with an empathetic, understanding nature
* Resilient, patient and kind; you will have challenging days, but they will be outweighed by rewarding ones
