Overview
The IP Infrastructure Design Team is part of the Connectivity Engineering Domain which is responsible for the Network Architecture and Design of our Mobile MPLS Core, Data Centres, Switch Sites, Internet Connectivity, Office Buildings, Remote Access Platforms, etc. The role will involve a wide variety of IP networking projects and include the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining hardware and software to comply with vendor support contracts and VMO2 design policies.
* Maintaining network capacity to support VMO2 traffic forecasts.
* Integration of new services onto the network.
* Production of design documentation, test cases, and implementation plans to ensure networks deliver excellent customer experience while retaining a focus on cost effectiveness and delivery timescales.
* Providing support to test and implementation staff.
* Supporting service migrations.
Experience in the areas of IP network design in a service provider environment is required, including hands-on experience with Cisco and other mainstream vendor networking technologies.
Qualifications
* A thorough understanding of IP, BGP, MPLS and associated protocols and features.
* Understanding and experience of working with DNS & DHCP platforms.
* Understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems.
* Experience of working within a mobile network operator environment.
* Experience of working with session enablement and management technologies such as RADIUS, IP QoS and DNS.
* Working with F5 load balancers, Cisco routers & switches, ASA & Firepower VPN concentrators.
