Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Port of Tilbury
Hours: Monday – Friday shift rotation – 0600-1400 | 1400—2200 | 2200-0600
Compensation: £50,000-£55,000 + £5,071 shift allowance + OTE
Roles: Multiple
Overtime rate: 1.75x

About The Role
As an Engineering Technician, you will undertake planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all plant, equipment, and systems are operational to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Use initiative and technical skills to deliver quality work and customer service
* Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and condition monitoring
* Gain thorough knowledge of plant equipment for effective repair and maintenance
* Report on machine status to engineering supervisors
* Report damage or misuse of equipment
* Provide written reports and signatures for statutory examinations
* Assist with ancillary tasks like fueling, lubrication, and cleaning
* Prioritize safety and reliability in all maintenance activities
* Follow instructions from supervisors
* Be capable of driving vehicles and cargo handling equipment
* Work flexibly across workshops and work areas
* Work at heights as required
* Maintain a clean and hazard-free environment, complying with standards
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience maintaining industrial fixed plant and equipment. Relevant qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HNC/D or NVQ 2/3). Skills in electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Qualifications And Skills
* HNC/D or NVQ 2/3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics
* Knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX regulations; COMPEX EX05/EX06 preferred but training provided
* Fault-finding expertise in industrial environments
* Experience with heavy plant and mobile equipment
* Proficiency in Word and Excel
* Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations
* Full UK driving license
* Right to work in the UK
