Welcome to Holdsworth School, where we create a nurturing environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs. Your Role
As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and learning readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
* Collaborating with the education team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
* Promoting positive learning behaviours.
* Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
* Delivering engaging enrichment activities.
* Assisting in lessons to address academic, emotional, or behavioural needs.
* Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
* Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
* Preparing relevant information for pupil meetings.
* Advocating for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
* Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
* Developing the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with SLT.
* Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
* A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
