Senior Test Development Engineer – Glenrothes, Fife / Livingston, Scotland
Location: Glenrothes, Fife (Scotland) or Livingston (Scotland)
Employment type: Full‑time, Onsite
Responsibilities
* Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
* Lead and support hardware‑software integration and troubleshooting
* Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
* Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
* Lead design reviews and maintain documentation to the highest standards
* Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers
Required Experience
* Design of product test development hardware
* Creation of wiring schedules
* System interface design
* Proficiency with NI LabView/Teststand
* Ability to produce comprehensive technical design documentation
* Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
* Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
* Support and debugging of system integration
* Eligibility for a minimum of BPSS security clearance
Desirable Experience
* Significant test‑development experience in industry
* Understanding of common test architectures (PXI/LXI)
* Knowledge of measurement uncertainty in test equipment design and validation
* Software knowledge: NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, C#
