About our school:-

Our staff model positive values to create a calm, supportive environment that frees up teaching and learning time and builds pupils’ social and relationship skills for life. We are committed to providing an excellent, well-rounded education which will enable children to thrive and be successful. We benefit from extensive grounds and excellent facilities.

•Children, parents and staff are happy and enjoy our vibrant and friendly school environment.

About the role:-

As SENDCO you will lead, develop and oversee SEND provision across the school. This role combines strategic leadership with operational delivery in a busy three-form-entry setting. You will:

•Lead development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s SEND policy and strategic plan

•Ensure early identification, assessment and review of pupil needs and maintain accurate, confidential SEND records

•Coordinate referrals and work with external agencies to secure timely specialist support (including EHCP processes)

•Support teachers to adapt curriculum and pedagogy so pupils with SEND can achieve ambitious outcomes

•Select, quality-assure and oversee evidence-informed interventions while minimising lost class time

•Provide training, coaching and guidance to staff and ensure the effective deployment of teaching assistants

•Analyse data (attendance, behaviour, achievement) to evaluate impact and report to leaders and governors

•Play a central role in safeguarding and in-person centred planning for pupils and families

This is a leadership role with real scope to shape provision, improve outcomes and embed inclusive, strengths-based practice across the school.

About you:-

We are looking for a SEND leader who:-

•Is a qualified teacher with experience of whole class teaching in a primary classroom and a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.

•An experienced SENDCO with relevant qualifications in leadership of SEND, National Professional Qualification for SENCOs (NPQ SENCO).

•Has experience leading SEND processes, graduated response documentation and EHCP reviews

•Is skilled at coaching colleagues, developing staff capacity and deploying support staff effectively

•Uses data confidently to evaluate impact and inform targeted improvement

•Adopts a person-centred, strengths-based approach and communicates effectively with pupils, families and external professionals

•Is resilient, organised and able to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment

•Is committed to inclusion and to developing pupils’ social, emotional and academic outcomes

We welcome applications from candidates who bring energy, integrity and creativity, and who will contribute to a collaborative, values-led school culture.

What we offer:-

•Leadership role as part of our SLT

•Ongoing professional development aligned to NPQ frameworks and national SEND guidance

•Access to Trust-wide learning communities

•Opportunities to access further CPD

•A friendly, committed staff team and a values-based environment that supports wellbeing and professional growth

•Flexible working arrangements available aligned to whole school policy

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds who will help us ensure every pupil belongs, thrives and succeeds.
