Senior MEP Manager | Large-Scale Residential
We are currently partnering with a leading construction firm to recruit a high-caliber Senior MEP Manager for a major residential scheme in Surrey. This is a site-based role designed for a proactive leader who can take full ownership of mechanical and electrical packages from stage 3 design through to completion.
The Role
As the Senior MEP Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, reporting directly to the Project Manager. You will be responsible for managing all site staff and challenging the supply chain to ensure the construction programme remains on track.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Design & Delivery: Full design responsibility for M&E works (Stage 3 to completion) and management of permanent utilities from design to final installation.
* Operational Oversight: Planning works, completing look-aheads, and ensuring all MEP materials and labour are secured.
* Quality & Safety: Carrying out QA of 1st, mid, and 2nd fix systems (including photographic evidence) and reviewing RAMS and safe working systems.
* Commissioning: Managing the commissioning programme from the outset through to Practical Completion, including tracking all certifications and test results.
* Stakeholder Management: Leading and chairing dedicated services meetings and liaising with Warranty providers, Building Control, and the client’s Clerk of Works.
Experience & Qualifications
* Track Record: Proven experience on large-scale residential schemes, specifically managing M&E packages.
* Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current building services regulations and the testing/commissioning process.
* Safety Credentials: SMSTS-trained with a relevant skills card and a detailed understanding of H&S requirements (access, heights, PPE, permit systems).
* Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Procore.
* Soft Skills: Strong commercial awareness and the \"strong personality\" required to effectively challenge and manage subcontractors.
