Job Title: Mechanical Estimator
Department: M&E Division
Reports to: Estimating Manager
Working closely with: Electrical Estimator
Location:
* Flexible working arrangement: 2 days working from home
* Occasional site visits (travel expenses covered)
Responsibilities
* Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including heat pumps and boiler rooms.
* Collaborate with the Estimating Manager and Electrical Estimator to develop comprehensive M&E project estimates.
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
* Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals to management and clients.
* Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions when necessary.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, trends, and pricing.
* Assist in the development and improvement of estimating processes and tools.
* Participate in post-tender reviews and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the M&E industry, preferably with experience in heat pumps and boiler rooms.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into commercial projects.
* Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, suppliers, and clients.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
* Willingness to travel for occasional site visits.
Education
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
