About the Client:
Our client is a leading provider of aircraft maintenance and modification services in the UK, supporting a wide range of commercial and private operators. They are renowned for their high standards of workmanship, safety, and innovation in composite and advanced materials repair and modification.
Role Overview:
The Composite Engineer will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and modification of composite aircraft structures. You will work within a highly skilled team in a workshop environment, ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge materials and gain experience across a variety of aircraft types.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect and repair composite aircraft structures in accordance with manufacturer and company procedures.
* Perform modifications and structural enhancements on aircraft components.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications.
* Ensure all work complies with EASA Part 145 / CAMO standards.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including paperwork and logbooks.
* Collaborate with other engineering teams to support aircraft availability and project deadlines.
* Adhere to all health, safety, and quality regulations in the workshop.
Education & Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with composite materials in an aerospace environment
* Relevant technical qualifications in aerospace engineering, composites, or equivalent
Skills & Experience:
* Strong understanding of composite materials, repair techniques, and bonding processes
* Experience with hand layup, vacuum bagging, and prepreg materials
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Strong team player with effective communication skills
* Familiarity with health and safety standards in an aviation workshop
Working Conditions:
* Workshop-based role with occasional overtime required
* Exposure to aircraft components, composite dust, and workshop machinery
* PPE and safety equipment provided
Additional Requirements:
* Flexibility to work shifts or extended hours during peak periods
