We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join a dynamic environmental consultancy.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across the UK, contributing to sustainable development and ecological best practice.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role include:
1. Conduct ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat and protected species (bats, great crested newts, reptiles, birds).
2. Undertake desk-based studies andpile ecological impact assessments (EcIAs).
3. Prepare data: mapping (QGIS), data processing, analysis, and report writing.
4. Supervise site-specific ecological works and act as Ecological Clerk of Works.
5. Liaise with planning authorities, clients, and statutory bodies for permissions and consultations.
6. Support proposal production, client meetings, and tender preparation.
7. Ensurepliance with health and safety protocols onsite.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Minimum CIEEM membership (Graduate, Associate, or full Member).
9. Proven experience with ecological survey techniques, especially PEA and protected species.
10. Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field, with 2–3 years of consultancy experience.
11. Proficiency in QGIS/GIS mapping and data handling.
12. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills.
13. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (overnight stays may be required).
14. Strongmitment to environmentalpliance and practical fieldwork.
