Job Title: SEN Nursery Nurse
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Nursery Nurse to join a caring and dedicated early years team. The successful candidate will work closely with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing personalised support to help them thrive in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. This position begins in September 2025.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children with SEN within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
2. Work closely with children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, following individual support plans.
3. Assist with planning and delivering play-based, child-centred activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
4. Collaborate with the SENCO, parents/carers, and external professionals to support each child's development.
5. Provide personal care when required, including feeding, changing, and supporting mobility or medical needs.
6. Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and reports.
7. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social skills.
8. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that meets each child's needs.
9. Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
Ideal Candidate:
* Hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, NNEB).
* Have experience working with young children with SEN, such as autism, global developmental delay, speech and language needs, or physical disabilities.
* Be caring, patient, and adaptable, with a passion for supporting every child's potential.
* Understand the EYFS framework and SEN Code of Practice.
* Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
