Practice Plus Group is hiring an Outpatients Nurse at Emerson's Green Hospital, Bristol
Join us as an Outpatient Nurse at Practice Plus Group, Emersons Green, where you will deliver high-quality patient care supported by evidence-based practice. You will work within the Outpatient and Pre-assessment Service, managing patient care and workload daily. Your responsibilities will include handling telephone inquiries, providing advice, or seeking assistance from clinicians or the RMO.
You will ensure nursing practices comply with:
* All relevant Department of Health Legislation
* NMC Code of Professional Conduct
* Care Quality Commission standards
* NICE guidelines
* Practice Plus Group policies and procedures
* Local hospital policies and OPD-specific procedures
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your clinical expertise and deliver high-quality patient care. The role covers 5 shifts from Monday to Saturday, with early (07:00-15:00) and late (13:00-21:00) starts. Fixed shifts are not available.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of clinical care within a multidisciplinary team, supported by evidence-based practice.
* Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patients are medically cleared for surgery, reducing cancellations.
* Support, supervise, and teach clinical and support staff to promote effective teamwork.
* Ensure compliance with CQC standards and NHSLA requirements where relevant.
* Communicate promptly with line managers to address patient and family concerns.
* Handle accidents, incidents, and complaints appropriately, documenting on Datix and informing relevant personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
* NMC Registered Nurse Part 1
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Recent experience at Band 5 or equivalent
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to lead clinically while reporting to a team leader
* Effective relationship management
* IT proficiency
* Ability to plan, evaluate, and develop personal and team performance
* Experience in teaching and developing healthcare assistants
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Report writing skills
* Patient-centered approach
* Willingness to undertake pre-assessment qualifications and courses
* Ability to work closely with medical colleagues
