About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fostering Assessment Social Worker to join its Local Authority Fostering Service. This role focuses on undertaking high‑quality assessments of kinship and mainstream foster carers, ensuring safe and supportive placements for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete comprehensive fostering assessments for kinship and mainstream carers
* Undertake all statutory checks and obtain relevant references
* Conduct planned and unplanned home visits on a weekly basis
* Facilitate placement planning meetings (particularly for kinship cases)
* Prepare and present assessment reports (Form K, or equivalent Form C/Form F) to Fostering Panel
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and multi‑agency professionals
* Attend and contribute to meetings relating to allocated cases
Requirements
* Proven experience completing kinship care and/or fostering assessments
* Experience using Form K, or previously Form C / Form F assessments
* Experience presenting assessments to Fostering Panel
* Strong organisational and report‑writing skills
* Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
