The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety, Environment, and Facilities Manager to join our Safety Team, based in the South of our business area (location negotiable). The role requires travel between depots.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, facilities, and environmental programs to ensure safe operations across all sites.
You will collaborate with various departments to foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
Key Accountabilities
1. Lead safety and environmental compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to legislation and company policies. Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures.
2. Oversee the development, monitoring, and implementation of management systems, including BSI standards.
3. Support local managers with safety and accident investigations, including documentation for authorities.
4. Report to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on KPIs, trends, and areas for improvement.
5. Promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across the business.
6. Coordinate safety training programs for employees at all levels.
7. Stay updated with trends and advancements in HSE management.
8. Ensure facilities comply with HSE and company policies, working with facilities management to maintain standards.
Person Specification
1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in transportation or logistics.
2. Professional HSE certifications, with NEBOSH qualification preferred.
3. Deep knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
