Position Summary:
We are seeking a Chef to join our team on a part-time basis, including some weekends. The ideal candidate will have culinary and management experience, responsible for kitchen operations such as ordering supplies, food preparation, maintaining quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and supervising staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks in accordance with residents’ dietary needs and preferences, including diabetic, texture-modified, and vegetarian options.
* Manage stock levels and order supplies as needed.
* Plan menus.
* Conduct food safety checks and keep records compliant with company policies.
* Adhere to health and safety procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment and food service areas.
* Collaborate with the Activities Team for special events.
* Supervise staff and ensure timely completion of employee reviews.
* Previous experience in a care setting is preferred.
* Qualifications in catering and food safety/hygiene are required.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong teamwork, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Effective time management skills.

* Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training.
* Communicate effectively with staff, residents’ families, visitors, and professional agencies.
