Are you a competent and multiskilled Refurbishment and Maintenance professional or builder looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking experienced Refurbishment Operatives to join our newly created Refurbishment team. You will work on refurbishing our new children’s homes and schools as part of our expansion plans. Your role involves planned and scheduled refurbishment, maintenance, and repair tasks such as plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrics, and gardening skills.
You should be comfortable carrying out a variety of refurbishment, maintenance, and property upkeep tasks across the region to support our growth. You will report to our Maintenance Manager, Graham, and be part of a team of three.
Key Responsibilities
* Refurbish homes and schools to ready them for opening, and perform other maintenance tasks as needed.
* Collaborate with the wider maintenance team across our facilities.
* Follow all health and safety regulations and report issues promptly.
* Open and lock the premises daily as a key holder.
* Be prepared to take annual leave outside the typical school holiday period (July to September).
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in general maintenance and high-standard work execution.
* Proficiency in plastering, building, and decorating to provide comprehensive maintenance services.
* Basic plumbing knowledge.
* Effective communication skills for liaising at all levels.
* Experience using powered hand and bench tools safely.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Competency in IT systems; familiarity with Jira is preferred.
* Valid driving license and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays.
Salary up to £33,000 per year, with benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off, a company van and fuel card, overtime pay, sick pay, life insurance, health cash plan, recognition awards, employee assistance, discounts, and access to a holiday home in the Peak District.
