Head Chef (Temporary / Immediate Start Live-In Available) Location: St Albans area Pay: Up to £22 per hour Start Date: Immediately Accommodation: Live-in available Setting: Fresh-food pub environment Role Summary We are recruiting an experienced, hands-on Head Chef for a fresh-food pub in the St Albans area on a temporary basis. This is an immediate start position offering live-in accommodation. You will take full responsibility for the kitchen, delivering high-quality, fresh dishes and confidently executing the new Christmas menu.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook all dishes using fresh ingredients; everything is made on-site
Deliver the new Christmas menu consistently and to a high standard
Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
Support and guide the kitchen team during busy service periods
Manage stock, ordering and kitchen organisation where required
Deliver both pub classics and quality restaurant-style dishes with consistent presentation
Person Specification
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous stepping up
Confident cooking high-quality fresh food in a busy pub or gastro-pub setting
Ability to follow menu specifications and maintain consistency under pressure
Calm, reliable and professional with strong kitchen standards
Flexible to work varied shifts
Available to start immediately and open to live-in accommodation
